Suosituimmat
Vincent van Goghin varhaisimmat maalaukset tarjoavat mitä mielenkiintoisimpia oivalluksia hänen jatkuvasta kehityksestään taiteilijana. Moni alla olevassa listassa oleva maalaus käsittelee aiheita, joita van Gogh itse käytti läpi koko uransa (esimerkiksi maatalot tai kylväjät). Tyylillisesti jotkut työt tuntuvat latteilta ja värit eivät aina ole parhaimmillaan, mutta nämä maalaukset kuitenkin kertovat orastavasta nerosta.
Huom: Maalaukset on järjestetty ensin kuukausittain, jonka jälkeen ne on vielä aakkostettu yksittäin. Yhtään tarkempi päiväys on yleisesti liian vaikeaa. Sääntönä kuitenkin Jan Hulskerin numerointi (JH) seurailee hieman tarkempaa kronologista järjestystä.
