1890 Resonance

Lee Michael Tiller

2001
Oil on stretched canvas

(Dublin, Ireland--private collection)

Tiller comments: "The inspiration behind the work is that whilst the instrument of Vincent's creative self stopped in 1890, his music continues to resonate through us today. A painting of joyful colour. In fact much of the so-called 'modernist movement' does more than a cursory glance over its shoulder at Vincent's legacy. It owes a great deal to this great man."
