Vince writes:

I've had a poem that I had been carrying around with me for years and it does not have an author and I cannot tell where I got it from. If anyone knows the author...?

Van Gogh Gives Evidence

There was a time
when I wanted to be redeemed in my painting
and to redeem this unreedemable world
the fields of wheat the crows my happy and/or unhappy brethren
wriggling behind or beyond bars
trees objects sunflowers and stars alike
Now I know
my utmost masterpiece is my death in progress
that's what I must perfect
These canvases daubed with my blood
with which I could have starved to death yesterday and which
       tomorrow
instead of kittens playing with a ball of yarn will decorate the homes
       of millionaires
they are merely
the by-products of suffering.
