hacia el cráneo-pararrayos.

He ahí el milagro.

las «cabezas fofas» de la Iglesia universal del ser

quieren meterle prisión —

                                           ( en marzo del ’89 ) —

                                a mi pasión :

¡ Ridículos !      ¡ Boludos !      ¡ Sersensatos ! ]

he puesto colores donde Natura lesa los perdía,

he desteñido cielos verídicos

para alimentar esta paleta vengadora —

He sufrido,

he creado,

he dado volumen al hilo del sentido —

Ahora,

            ni una línea más.

                                         Ni un color.

Ni mi último suspiro. —

que me voy de parranda cósmica

con anthon Van Rappard y Jacob Meyer de Haan,

hasta poder colgar, entre lúcidos « girasoles »,

la « Canción de cuna » en « La Casa del Placer ».

j’ai mis des couleurs là où la Nature lèse les perdait,

j’ai décoloré des ciels véridiques

pour nourrir cette palette vengeresse —

J’ai souffert,

j’ai crié,

j’ai donné du volume au fil du sens —

Maintenant,

                  pas une ligne de plus.

                                                    Pas même une couleur.

Pas même mon dernier soupir. —

Moi, Paul Vincent Van Gauguin,

déclarons

que je m’en vais faire la bamboche cosmique

avec anthon Van Rappard et Jacob Meyer de Haan,

jusqu’à ce que nous puissions pendre,

From the full and lonely star in the rosy, sky blue funnel,
a thin cloud-like light frays burningsoftly
to the lightning rod skull.

Here’s the miracle.
                             Here’s the wonder:

            [ Nevertheless
            the «flabby heads» of the Universal Church of Being
            wants to imprision —
           (in March, ’89) —
            (in April, 1903) —
                                          my passion :

            ¡You ridiculous! ¡You stupids! ¡You reasonablebeings! ]

I have put colours where wronged Nature was losing them,                       
I have faded true skies
to feed this avenging palette—

I have suffered,
I have created,
I have given volume to the sense thread—

Now,
          not a single line more line.
                                                    Neither a colour.
