Influencia de Vincent en mis Fotografías
Los Girasoles

En esta carta, de nuevo utilizo frases de tus cartas para explicarte por qué han influido tus pinturas de Girasoles en la foto que te envio de un Girasol. Recordarás que utilizo frases que enviaste en alguna carta a Theo (T y el número de carta) o en cartas a Will (W con el número). Como hago mención a alguna de tus pinturas, incluyo también el número de catálogo de cada una según haya sido generado por J. de la Faille (F) o por Jan Hulsker (JH).

Esta es la lista completa de tus pinturas de Girasoles que viene en Nuestra Galería de Vincent van Gogh::

1. "Naturaleza Muerta: Vasija con quince Girasoles" (F0454/ JH1562, F0457/ JH1666, F0458/ JH1667). Uno de estos cuadros de Girasoles se comercializó en 39.9 millones de dólares en 1987.
2. Otros son tan solo "Cuatro Girasoles Cortados" (F0452/ JH1330).
3. Tres versiones de "Dos Girasoles Cortados" (F0375/JH1329, F0376/JH1331, F0377/JH1328).
4. "Naturaleza Muerta: Vasija con doce Girasoles" (F0456/ JH1561, F0455/ JH1668).
5. "Naturaleza Muerta: Vasija con cinco Girasoles" (F0459/JH1560), cuadro que destruyó el fuego durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
6. "Tres Girasoles en un vaso" (F0453/JH1559).

Recordarás que escribiste en una de tus cartas a Theo: "Estoy en vena de pintar...porque se trata de pintar los grandes girasoles...Tengo tres telas en preparación: 1) tres grandes flores en un jarro verde, fondo claro, ... 2) tres flores, una flor en simiente y deshojada, y un botón sobre fondo azul real, ... 3) doce flores y botones en un vaso amarillo ... El último es, pues, claro sobre claro, y será el mejor, así lo espero,... " (T526).

También a Will le comentaste "Por el momento, estoy trabajando en un conjunto de doce girasoles en una vasija" (W6), frase que escribí en mi fotografía un tanto modificada "Estoy muy ocupado trabajando en mis girasoles".

Un último comentario que hiciste Vincent, fue: "PUES BIEN, LA VERDAD ES QUE SÓLO PODEMOS HACER QUE SEAN NUESTROS CUADROS LOS QUE HABLEN" (T652).

Vincent's Influence in My Photography
The Sunflowers

In this letter, I use again some of the phrases in your letters, to explain you why your paintings of Sunflowers have influenced me to take the photo of a Sunflower I send you attached. As you remember, I use phrases you wrote in the letters to Theo (T plus the letter number) or in letters to Will (W plus the number). As I mention some of your paintings, I include the catalogue number as they were developed by J. de la Faille (F) or by Jan Hulsker (JH).

This is the list of your paintings of Sunflowers included in Our Gallery of Vincent van Gogh:

1. All your: "Still Life: Vase with Fifteen Sunflowers" (F0454/ JH1562, F0457/ JH1666, F0458/ JH1667). One of these Sunflowers' paintings was sold in 39.9 million dollars in 1987.
2. Other are "Four Cut Sunflowers" (F0452/ JH1330).
3. Three paintings of "Two Cut Sunflowers" (F0375/JH1329, F0376/JH1331, F0377/JH1328).
4. "Still Life: Vase with Twelve Sunflowers" (F0456/ JH1561, F0455/ JH1668).
5. "Still Life: Vase with Five Sunflowers" (F0459/JH1560), painting destroyed by fire during Worl War II.
6. "Three Sunflowers in a Vase" (F0453/JH1559).

You would remember you wrote to Theo: "I am hard at it...what I'm at is the painting of some big sunflowers...I have three canvases going: 1) three huge flowers in a green vase, light background, ... 2) three flowers, one gone to seed, having lost its petals, and one a bud against a royal-blue background, ... 3) twelve flowers and buds in a yellow vase... The last one is therefore light on light, and I hope it will be the best,... " (T526).

You wrote to Will too about your Sunflowers: "At the moment I am working on a bunch of twelve sunflowers in a yellow earthtenware pot" (W6), I rewrote this phrase at my photo with some changes as "I am very busy working on my Sunflowers".

And one of your last thoughts was: "WELL, THE TRUTH IS, WE CAN ONLY MAKE OUR PICTURES SPEAK" (T652).
