"AUTORRETRATOS (Parte VI)"

En este documento, presento nuevamente información acerca de cinco Autorretratos, que no pude agrupar dentro de un mismo tema (ver Tabla I).

El título de los cinco es tan sencillo como "Autorretrato". El primero es el F0356/JH1248 que Vincent pintó en entre la Primavera y Verano de 1887. En este cuadro prevalece el color café, tanto en el fondo como en el traje de Vincent. En el fondo Vicent utilizó pequeñas pinceladas de color café tan oscuro que podría pensarse son de color negro. La barba tiene color ocre rojizo. Tengo copia de este cuadro en los libros: 3 (P 96) y 22 (P 66).

El segundo de este grupo es el F0380/JH1225 que preparó en la Primavera de 1887 en Paris. Vincent se pintó muy elegante, con saco azul-grisaceo y corbata azul. Vincent usó pequeños brochazos cortos en el fondo. He encontrado copia de este Autorretrato en los libros: 3 (P 98), 22 (P 68) y 24 (P 16).

Otro "Autorretrato " es el F0366/JH1345, el cual Vincent pintó en el Invierno de 1887-1888. Este cuadro muestra "innumerables pinceladas horizontales y verticales en el fondo, que parece lluvia de colores en el lienzo" (Denvir. Libro 22). "No sabes lo paralizante que es mirar fijamente un lienzo en blanco; dice al pintor, 'No puedes hacer nada'." (T378). Tengo copia de esta pintura en los libros: 3 (P 100) y 22 (P 70).

El "Autorretrato " F1672a/JH1344, lo pintó también en el Invierno de 1887-1888, tiene el gesto adusto, con una agresividad provocada según Denvir (Libro 22) por una época de enojo con Theo. "A veces me siento viejo y destrozado, ..." (T462). He encontrado copia de esta pintura en los libros: 3 (P 112) y 22 (P 72).

El último "Autorretrato " de esta nota es el F0320/JH1334, que Vincent pintó en el Otoño de 1887. Tengo copia de esta pintura en los libros: 3 (P 102), 22 (P 52) y 26 (P 20).

"SELF-PORTRAITS (Part VI)"

In this Part VI, I present information about five Self-Portraits I could not again select as a part of a group with the same subject (seeTable I).

The five are known as: "Self-Portrait". The first one is F0356/JH1248, painted during the Spring-Summer of 1887. Vincent used mainly brown color for the background and for his suit. At the background Vincent included some dark brown dabs, almost black. The beard is brown reddish. I have a copy of this canvas at the books: 3 (P 96) and 22 (P 66).

The second one is F0380/JH1225 prepared during Spring of 1887 in Paris. Vincent painted himself neatly dressed, in a gray-blue jacket and blue cravat. Vincent used short broken brushtrokes at the background. I have found copy of this Self-Portrait in the books: 3 (P 98), 22 (P 68) and 24 (P 16).

Another "Self-Portrait" is F0366/JH1345, which was painting during the Winter of 1887-1888. This canvas has "innumerable horizontal and vertical strokes at the background, that rain down on the canvas in a variety of colors" (Denvir. Book 22). "You do not know how paralyzing that staring of a blank canvas is; it says to painter, 'You can't do anything'." (T378). I have copy of the painting at the books 3 (P 100) and 22 (P 70).

The "Self-Portrait" F1672a/JH1344, was painted during the Winter of 1887-1888, he looks angry, with an aggresiveness generated by an ill-feeling with Theo, according with Denvir (Book 22). "And at time, I already feel old and broken, ..." (T462). I have found copy of this canvas at the books: 3 (P 112) and 22 (P 72).

The last "Self-Portrait" of this note, F0320/JH1334, was painted Autumn of 1887. I have copy of the canvas at the books: 3 (P 102), 22 (P 52) and 26 (P 20).

En lugar de presentar detalles de los autorretratos de Vincent que menciono, incluyo parte de un dibujo al carbón y colores pastel que hice en 1992 donde copié el Autorretrato: F0380/JH1225.
